I am very proud to be from St. Louis…in case you were wondering.  Which you probably weren’t, but at least now you know.  I think StL is an up and coming city, mark my words after we are done being labeled “the most dangerous city in the US” we will be where all the cool kids live.  Thug life forever.

One of our favorite hobbies is pretending we are tourists right here in St. Louis and taking in all the sights.  I adore local bands and artists, and try to shop local as often as possible.  St. Louie has been brewing up some fantastic local chefs and restaurants….and even better food trucks.  For all these reasons and many more (ahem, hi family) we do not have the luxury of living on a beach.  It’s worth it though, because the StL has a lot to offer.  Just ask Nelly.  Or Molly Brown.  Or John Goodman.  Anywhoodles.

When I heard about Artopia, my jaw sort of dropped.  You mean to tell me you are showcasing all of our St. Louis talent while I chow down on awesome local eats and pretend I am fashionable?  Count me in.  Count me all the way in and shaking it all about.  Proving I am hopelessly un-hip…how have I not heard of this in the five previous years.  Can I get a do-over?  Feast your eyes on this awesomeness… artopia-st-louis I have counted on the Riverfront Times to keep me cool for quite some time so I am über excited to see they are hosting this event.  You know it will be good.  Nay, nay my friend…it will be great.  Tickets are $30 a piece for General Admission and that gets you three drinks, lots of samples, two fashion shows, and all the local art and music you can handle.  Just watch the video from last year and you will be chomping at the bit.

Want to know the best part?  If you are local (shoot, even if you’re not)….then I want you to come.  I want you to come so bad that I snagged two tickets courtesy of the RFT Streetteam to give to one lucky duck.  Then, once you are down there, come find me and we can take shameless selfies. win-a-ticket-to-artopia All you have to do to enter is leave me a comment below saying you want to go, easy peesy lemon squeezy.  If you aren’t within driving distance to ol’ Missouri, well I’m sorry…and also slightly jealous.

Have you ever been to Artopia?  Are you going this year?
Who is your favorite local artist or musician?
Anyone else craving meat on a stick now?  Can I get a corn dog?

PS….no one is paying me to say nice things.  I geniunely want to go to this amazing local event and when I was offered 2 free tickets I decided I wanted you all to come too.  I will be saving nickles for my tickets and everything you read above is straight from my heart.  Now you know.

I have a lot of respect for anyone that blogs.  Especially if you blog with any sort of regularity…and those of you posting multiple times a day, well, I tip my sombrero atcha.

If you don’t have a blog, and don’t care about all the little, lovely details that tag along with blogging then watch this video.  Sing along if you like.

If you are a blogger or at the very least like reading about the act of blogging as a verb, read on.

Blogging is a whole other world, one that most people don’t understand.  Brainstorming sessions over bottles of wine, buying supplies, making said supplies look Pinterest worthy, taking a million photos to pretend that your house is not covered in a laundry bomb, and then writing-rewriting-proofreading-spellchecking-publishing-hoping for comments.  We have enough to do just creating content, but then we are supposed to promote and engage too?  Say what?  I barely have time to microwave dinner my friends.

Let alone save my pennies to advertise on other awesome blogs, then join this network and that page.  Sometimes I feel like I just can’t keep up, oh you get it….you feel me?

Well, as a salute to you my fellow blogger I want to give you a gift.  Well, me and a few other fun-loving bloggers.  We want to give you the chance at loads of free advertising, cute stuff, and even some gift cards.  You know, to make your life a little easier so you can go outside and enjoy a lemonade and a cabana boy.  Then send that cabana boy my way and tell him don’t forget the fabric softener.

It’s easy….just enter below.  I’m rooting for you.

17 Bloggers, 19 Prizes and 1 lucky winner.

Free Download....

Posted by Christina // 17 Replies

Everyone loves a free download.
Everyone loves a throwback quote.
Can I get an Amen. free download If you’ve followed for a while, you know I have a giant frame wall lurking on my to-do list.  It has only been at the top of the list for about eight months.  It is one of those tasks that I am terrified to start, because in my head it looks amazing but what if on the wall it just looks amazingly awful.

So I make excuses.  We don’t have enough frames.  The bathroom renovation will surely knock the frames off the wall.  We have to cover the return vent first.  I can’t find art I like.  Yada, yada, yada.

The remedy:  I have started making my own frame wall art.  Well, little miss little miss little miss can’t be wrong.  ‘Member that catchy little tune?  How about Matchbox 20, do you remember them?  Me too. matchbox20 quote free download I still love that song.  Sorry if it is stuck in your head now, but feel free to sing it all day.  I know I will be.

You can sing it on our Facebook page and I will get in on the karaoke session with you.  Or holler on Twitter and we can sing in rounds.

All of the downloads are 8 x 10 files.
Just pick your favorite color and put it in the comments and we will send you the file.  Make sure you leave your email, and feel free to grab multiple colors.

Then sing all night long…all night….all night.

If you like the download, you can gain my undying love by pinning it.  I’ll give you my first-born for sharing it on Facebook.

Obviously kidding, sort of, but sharing is caring my friends.

Funny Karma Story:  Yesterday I was talking to a friend about making mix tapes for an upcoming road trip.  I told her I could listen to anything but Nickelback, because Nickelback makes me cringe.  That same friend also gave me instructions last night on how to offer free downloads to readers (so go thank her).  Which allowed me to share the print above, the one that has been on my computer since February.  That same friend has also pointed out, this quote is not a Matchbox 20 song.  It’s a Chad Kroger song….it’s a Nickelback song.  Is this my life?  Apparently, I don’t hate Nickelback as much as I thought since I am memorializing them all over my frame wall and the internet.  Say a prayer for me, I’ve entered full on depression mode.

Oh the shame.
