It’s that time again…for us to round up all of our favorite things.  If only we could give them away to everyone.  “You get a boat, and you get a boat, and YOU get a boat”.  Maybe one day.

Say wasssup to my favorite things.  Feel free to stick your tongue out and shake. august-favorite-things-hers 1.  You already know all about my trip to Haven.  Clearly that is the highlight of my August…I am already counting down to next year.  Now I can officially call myself a Haven Maven, and I like it.  In fact that may be my first borns name.

2.  When I was preparing for the conference I knew I would get sweaty (if we talked and I was glistening, I am sorry it’s just who I am).  Then I worried makeup would just melt off my face and I would never make any friends.  Upon a tip from Cara, I bought this primer from Benefit.  In love.  I did indeed sweat, but this primer held its ground right there on my face.  I was warned from the Ulta girls that it can clog your pores and make you break out, so there is that if you don’t wash your face on the regular.  Which I don’t….so when I am cursing breakouts remind me of this convo.

3.  Just go to weddinggawker.com today, and try to spend less than five minutes on that site.  It was hailed as the “Pinterest just for weddings” so I avoided it like the plague until there was a ring on it.  Now it’s a different story, if only I had more hours in a day.

4.  I have been really wanting to start rocking the head scarf.  Particularly on days when maybe shampoo (even of the dry variety) didn’t make it onto my head.  I have watched some videos on how to make it look effortless, but I always think they look funny on my head.  Maybe I will order this one and try again.

5.  I guess it is a good thing that I am obsessed with our new business cards.  It sure would be a shame if I wasn’t.  Thanks to Moo.com for always keeping it classy.

6.  Remember when I threw up the great bag debate on Facebook?  Well, I mixed it up and blended my favorite bag and my favorite color and got the Missy Mint.  So far I am really digging it, super functional and lots of compliments come my way when I sport it.  Get you one. august-favorite-things-his 1.  I am not a country fan.  At least I wasn’t until Christina reset my presets.  Now I find myself wandering over to our local stations and singing along.  One of my favorite songs right now is Round Here from Florida Georgia Line, and Christina laughs every time it comes on because I can sing every word.

1.5  The shows above are just a few of my favorites that sucked me in while my fiancé was partying it up in Atlanta.  I will admit I am sometimes a reality junkie, which you should know since I already talk about Duck Dynasty and Ink Master and etcetera and so on.

2.  Recently, I bought a few banana plants and while at the local nursery I picked up some of this stuff.  Which is probably why our plants turned into monsters.  They are growing like crazy, which makes me proud of my ladies gardening skills and happy I spent the money on plant food.

3.  Is there anything that says “late-summer” like sunflower seeds?  Nope, there’s not.  Fun fact:  I actually used sunflower seeds to quit smoking five years ago.  Instead of reaching for a smoke, I grabbed a couple of sunflower seeds and broke the habit cold turkey.  Best decision I ever made.

4.  I had heard talk about ASAP Utilities from Christina and her co-workers but always just thought I would have no use for it.  If you use Microsoft Excel on the regular then you should go download the free trial and just play around.  It’s basically shortcuts for all the tedious things you do in Excel.  Just try it, you will thank us later I promise.

5.  This was part of the Haven swag that my girl brought home for me.  I swear it was like Christmas in her suitcase when she got back.  I have been playing around with the Kreg Jig and can’t wait to tackle a big project.  Wish we would have had one of these when we built the planters.

Since the last three days have been a whirlwind of squeals and happiness…I have started thinking about all the things that make me giddy in life.  Tim always says that one of his favorite things about me is how excited I get over the “little things” although he hates it when we are driving and I gasp over a sale at Pier 1 Imports. Today is the last day to enter the giveaway!

Just call us bumble bees because it has been a buzzzzy week.  Too much?

I feel like I haven’t even had a chance to breathe this week, let alone get packed and ready for the Maiedae Mixer with Trisha.  Seriously, what am I wearing?  Where is my camera charger?  And how do I get to Rome, GA?

While my head is buzzing with last-minute details, I am taking a couple of moments to decompress and focus on all of my favorite things from this week.

Normally, my favorite Etsy stores are hand drawn quotes or whimsical characters.  This week though, Pastel Fabels quickly caught my eye with one of those sweet and quirky quotes but Jessica’s photography is what really got my heart racing.  I’m not much of a cat person, but her photos have me dreaming of snuggling those fuzzy purr makers. pastel fables Make sure you visit her site to see the quirky diorama photography.  I want one, I need one, oh baby, oh baby.  In other swoon-worthy news. oh happy day I want to be friends with Jordan, simply because she thought of shrinky dinking photos.  I am absolutely jumping on this train and will be “surprising” Tim with little Christinas in the most unexpected places.  All aboard. bower power Does this even need a pithy explanation?  We love fish, so we love this tablescape.  Easy as pie, oh yum hope it’s blueberry. sawdust and embryos This is the star of my world right now.  Beth took a bunch of jars, dyed them, broke them, and turned them into this b-e-a-u-tiful backsplash.  She is pretty much a backsplash boss, but this is just impressive.  So creative, so labor-intensive, so gorgeous.  Excuse me while I wipe up my drool.

What are you drooling over lately?
Anyone else going to the Maiedae Mixer?
Who is making me a blueberry pie?

Can I get a Huuuu Haaa Two Times Friday.
Or something like that.

I hope you all are getting a three day weekend, or at least chocolate.

Tim and I are taking a mini road trip and I can’t wait to tell you all about it.  Oh the anticipation.  For know I will just show you some Etsy goodness.

Meet Livy Love Designs, also know as adorable art. livylovedesigns etsy shop prints I have big dreams of symmetrical frames lining a wall, so I live those dreams on the blog.  Obviously.

In other blog news…. lovelyindeed Lovely Indeed shared some of her favorite blog resources.  I like to think I am up on my game, but I honestly had never heard of any of these.  Nowadays, I spend way too much time “learning” and drooling over beautiful design and classes I can’t afford. knack studios I am obsessed with this whole concept.  I saw this book art while peeping in on Knack Studios revamped dresser.  The dresser is pretty and all but those books are show-stopping.  I feel like I can totally pull it off with enough hot glue. centsational girl We have a hard time with our backyard.  We have a pool, so most of the “yard” is actually concrete.  I loved seeing Kate makeover this backyard in just one day.  Now who wants to build us a pergola.  Bueller, Bueller. ohhappyday I love new beginnings, and since Tim works in real estate we get to help a lot of friends buy their first home.  I always get a little too excited about it and now I found the perfect gift to help show them without jumping and squealing.  Jordan sure knows how to make someone’s day.

Have you found anything amazing lately?
Got any trips planned for the weekend?
Ever made monkey bread?  I am craving.

PS….we are having a few technical difficulties with some slimy hackers.  Sorry if we are running a little slow or you are getting errors, we are working out the kinks as we speak you read.

It is Friday….that should make you smile.

If that doesn’t make you smile this will. WATER IN MY PAINT It is like quirky cuteness overload.  Deidre’s Etsy shop Water in My Paint is pretty much the funniest animal art I have ever fawned over.  It’s like a little critter line-up and I need those fuzzy faces all over our house.

Which one is your favorite?

Speaking of favorites, here are some gems I found whilst roaming around blogtown. DOS FAMILY We have a million stools hanging around the house.  I love that Dos Family took something normally boring and basic and made it so fun and feisty.  I am all about that map stool, I mean does it get any better?  I am not sure how well it would hold up to our wear & tear, not to mention saltwater splatter. BEAUTIFULMESS I have developed a serious crush on attic bedrooms.  If I could find a way to make some stairs work, this would be on our project list.  I love how open and airy they are, and I also imagine sleeping would be breezy in such a sanctuary.  Janae from Itsy Bitsy House’s attic was featured on A Beautiful Mess and I almost fell out of my chair lusting after all the beautiful details.

Where do you find all these thrift shops with hidden treasures.  All the thrift shops I go to are full of ceramic ducks and plastic tumblers. HOUSE TWEAKING I know, I know, you would have never guessed that this was a laundry nook.  The award for most beautifully hidden washer & dryer goes to Dana from House Tweaking without a doubt.  That girl has mad styling skills. GLUEGUNGIRL Oh how I miss the days of pen pals and hand-lettering.  I hope it makes a comeback once all our thumbs get carpal tunnel from texting.  The Glue Gun girl gives us a tour of the prettiest papers to spice up your mailman’s life.  They are so adorable I want to send myself mail.

Did you find anything great this week?

“Cheers to the freakin weeken (silent d) I drink to that” – Rhianna

That girl is wise beyond her years.  Can we talk about the fact that it is April, and not just April…it is mid-April.  Seriously, wasn’t I just hunkering down for the end of the Mayan Calender with my jar of peanut butter and flashlight?  Where is time going, and why aren’t all these projects finishing themselves.

This weekend we are going to be kicking some home-sweet-home rump, but before I get all sweaty and exhausted let me revel in this sweet little Etsy shop. jen skelley Jen Skelley’s sweet prints easily caught my eye with all the vibrant colors and whimsical characters.  You put a whale on just about anything and I pretty much call you my soul mate.  How adorable would a grouping of those be in a playroom?

Along with everything Coachella, I was also able to find some pretty sweet DIY projects.  I can’t wait to get my hands on some of these and make them my own. lovely indeed I have been keeping my eyes peeled for a sweet little bar cart that I can refurbish, and when I find (or build) my dream companion you had better believe a few of these DIY bottles will be riding dirty on top.  Look, we are young and fairly broke so we can’t afford the “bottles” you see in those rap videos.  Our bottles are generally of the plastic variety, so giving them a little makeover might be good for our bar carts reputation. one charming party I am getting a little overly excited for Cinco de Mayo, it is one of my favorites.  Okay, I really enjoy nachos and salsa and maybe a tangy green drink (on the rocks, extra strong).  The adorable little pinatas that One Charming Party whipped up are getting me in the fiesta spirit.  These look like they would be super easy for kiddos to pull too, so instead of giving that neighbor kid that murders ants with a magnifying glass a giant stick to terrorize everyone with just put up a couple of these and watch everyone go wild. honestly wtf Talk about unexpected.  I have seen a lot of cool sunglasses, but these are taking the cake right now.  Erica from Honestly WTF actually drilled holes in her shades to embroider an awesome little design.  She even makes it look easy.  I must admit I have gone a little embroidery crazy.  Maybe it is my inner granny, or maybe it is because I can’t embroider beans but I think I like it. design mom I am excited about this, it is one of those things you don’t really need but it makes your day a little bit better.  You buy this customizable printer and chose what is sent to you daily.  It can be news updates, grocery lists. Sudoku puzzles, or even your astrology report.  Imagine grabbing you morning horoscope before heading out the door, or even better sending yourself little love notes since it is all manageable from your cellular.  I don’t even think my explanation does this little guy justice, so check it out here.  Now what is my excuse for absolutely “needing” one of these?

What did you find out there this week?
Got any good plans for the weekend?
Wanna come help us clean?
