Make Monday Matter....twelve

Posted by Christina // 10 Replies

Welcome back Monday…glad to see you again.

We had some crazy weather this weekend and are currently still burrowing our way out of fourteen inches of the best snowman-building-snow you’ve ever seen.  Isn’t snow sometimes so lovely?  Especially when you can stay inside and bundle up with your love.  It is not so lovely when you have to brave the roads, so wish us luck today.

This Monday we didn’t want to do anything too crazy in case you are snowed in like us.  So instead, we are asking you to plan. monday matter Did you know that birthdays are the number one reason people celebrate?  In fact, every single week there are 5,812,037 birthdays and 79,623 births.  Along with weddings, retirements, graduations, bat & bar mitzvahs, funerals, and balls we are a celebrating culture.  So what if for just one celebration you gave your gifts to someone less fortunate? give up your gifts Maybe your birthday has already passed or maybe you are like Tim and say, “but that is the only day that is all about me and there is no way I am giving that up mmmkay”.  Why not host a charity party?  Do I really have to convince you to gather all of your friends and family for a hootin-and-hollerin good time?  Didn’t think so.

There are so many charities near and dear to our hearts, what are your favorites?

Oh Theresa, that sounds awesome! Is there a walk or anything or just the 5k? I realized with the color run that I am not a runner, well not a good one at least haha!

      HAPPY HALF BIRTHDAY!

Oh, if there is a walk you can count us in! Maybe one day we will take on running again…heck maybe one day we can run a marathon. I just always am running along and think…what if I just stop running. And then I do 🙂

Plus I love Forest Park, so enjoying the day and supporting a good cause sounds like a blast. Hope to see you there!!!

Time said this morning we haven’t had this much snow since the blizzard of 1980-something. Craziness! Hope you are staying warm.

So jealous of your snow!!!! We have about two inches right now. Was hoping for a snowday today but no dice so far. Damn 🙁

Also, one of my favorites is the SPCA. I had a small party in December and collected some money for them. Woo! Adopt the kitties and puppies!

You know we love the animals….I had T looking up how to build a duck habitat last night!

Hey we got dumped on with all that snow and STILL didn’t get a snow day. Makes me wish I was back in high school, then I could have slept the day away 🙂

I’ll send the snow your way okay!

We always love to give to Stray Rescue here in STL (www.strayrescue.org). At one point there was a Stray Rescue wine and each bottle purchase got a certain dollar donation to the charity. Not as great as just giving money straight there but some people (e.g. moms) have a hard time not giving you an actual gift. A few years ago I had my mom get us a memorial brick at the new Stray Rescue shelter for Christmas. I see it every time I visit the shelter and it makes me smile.

Awwwww that’s a great one! We love for our donations to stay local and obviously animals are close to our hearts 🙂

Do you have any furry friends?

We have two mutt-puppies, Sophie and Shenanigan. Sophie has been going crazy in this snow — she hops around like a big bunny and if you throw a snowball up in the air at her she spins in circles and then zooms around the yard. Dogs are strange but highly entertaining.

Hahaha….putting the dogs out has been our main form of entertainment these days! The littlest just hops like a bunny and tries to stay in the big dogs paths. It’s hilarious.

Looks like we need to see what they will do with snowballs 🙂
