As I mentioned last week, I hosted my first cookie bake this weekend.
For as long as I can remember my mom has gotten together with a few of her oldest friends -and by oldest I mean they have been in her life for many moons…not that they have wrinkles-and baked cookies. I always loved this time of year because it meant a delicious sample session of sugary goodness.
I always secretly wondered why I wasn’t invited. But now I get it…If kids were there then they couldn’t lick the bowls. You’re totally forgiven mom.
This year I decided to take matters into my own hands and start hoarding sweets, not good for my thighs but I’ll totally take the stairs all week.
Here are a few of our treats…
We had a blast, just catching up and trying our best not to burn anything. I really hope we can make it an annual get together. Not only do you get to spend time with fun girls, you get cookies too!
Have you ever had a cookie bake?
Got a good recipe I need to know?

Yes Ive Baked cookies ever year for the last thirty years , Its a great memory !!!!!!!!!!
LOVE ya MOM
So can I come with you this year?
Your crinkles look tasty! My Mom is best friends with a woman whose daughter is my best friend (follow that?) so the four of us have been baking together since foreverrr. Probably since we were babies, actually. It’s so much fun!
One year I got that best friend a Christmas gift that went along with our cookie baking theme. It was an apron with a gingerbread man on it; his leg was broken and it said “oh snap!” I think it was from zazzle but you could totally create your own design and get aprons made for your friends for next year 🙂
Since my grandparents are older now, I’ve taken over the cookie-baking for the family Christmas get-together. I get ALL of my recipes from the howsweeteats blog. I’ve never been let down. They are awesome, especially if you like something a little different but totally easy. And soft! That blog is dangerous though – just a warning. Everything is delicious!
Ohhhh yyaaaayyyy thanks for all of the tips! How awesome to have a mom-daughter-duo set!!!! I am giggly thinking about that “oh snap” apron so I might have to serach for it.
Guess what I am working on this weekend….dun dun dun….the frame wall. I think I am going to DIY the print you sent, wish me luck haha!!!!
my bff and i do this every year the weekend before christmas! it’s such a fun day to make a bunch of goodies to share with friends, co-workers, and family! =)
Yea, my mom always takes a whole bunch of the cookies to work to share. What a good way to get on everyone’s “nice” list haha. I’ll just eat all of mine hahah kidding…I think.
All those cookies are already gone in my house.. Like I said before.. Prego girls love cookies!! I wanna see all the other pictures you took! Send them to me!
They are all gone around these parts too!!!! So ridiculous 🙂
Tim was eating those mini cheesecakes like they were going to sprout legs and run out on him! I only got ONE!!!!! Good Lord I wish I could eat like that and not gain 40 pounds.
Cookie baking has got to be the most fun! And I made those chocolate crinkle cookies too! Or whatever they’re called. My all time favorite really!
Me too! They were so yummy…they are already all gone haha!!!
