You know those people who only buy things that are functional?
I am not one of them.
After seeing this on Kate’s blog, Kate’s Creative Space…I decided our home needed some whimsy.
That’s when Beatrice moved in.
Sure it is completely useless and just for decoration, until a little one comes over and their face lights up. Then this little door is magic.
We went to our local craft store and picked up a dollhouse door and some hardware, painted it to match our front door, and let her move on in.
Bea got creative and wrangled up some staples for stairs until she got around to DIY’ing a ladder.
Gotta love that she got all festive and threw out her pumpkins….but where’s the candy?
Can you imagine the possibilities? Kate adds milk bottles, mail, rain boots and all sorts of mini-sized goodies typically made for doll houses.
I smile every time I walk by, and it has become a little game with T and I to see what Beatrice is up to.
That is so cute. So the dogs to bother Bea?
Thanks Julie 🙂 The big dog actually has really bad eyesight and since he is so old he generally keeps to his room (yes the dog has his own room haha, what can we say…no kiddos means Taj has his own room). We were really worried that the little one would sniff those pumpkins out and gobble them up but she hasn’t even noticed them. I tried to get her to go near them so that I could watch her reaction but she wanted nothing to do with it. She is usually never in the living room without us, so we can keep an eye out in case she decides they are a snack!
I so love this! My mum recently found my old dolls house and I spent hours playing….ehem, I mean sorting out all the little bits & pieces and reminiscing. Please update with pics – would love to see Beatrice’s christmas wreath on the door…maybe a catflap next?!
Hope the bloggin gcourse is going well

So first of all CONGRATS on the recent proposal 🙂 I love the colors on your blog, so sweet…instantly subscribed because I can’t wait to hear all about the wedding haha!
Beatrice will for sure be making appearances, especially around the holidays 😉
Thanks so much for stopping by!!!!
Let me just tell you that I got your updated blog on my phone today and this literally made my whole morning. Ha! I love how fun and corky it is…and super fabulous! It really made me smile. Thanks for the unexpected and wonderful little post.
Hahah thanks Christina! Let me tell you, it is so much fun too. Ill walk in and the door with be open and we joke that Beatrice went out for milk. It is just such a funny little story line everyday, we need to look online for more props 🙂
This is absolutely adorable!!!
Thanks boo!!! Hope the whole “having a baby” thing is going splendidly 🙂
This is the cutest thing ever! I might just have to copy this. When I was living with my parents, I had little mouseholes painted on my baseboards (a la Tom and Jerry) which were super fun…but this is even funner 😉
It is like a little game too….anytime anything is messy or if I do something wrong I just blamed it on Beatrice haha….she is about to decorate for Christmas and I am giddy as a choir boy! Ohhh Tom & Jerry, you are taking me back 🙂
