Build it on a Saturday. Live with it for years.
Every project on Homemade Ocean starts the same way: something in the house is not quite right, and buying the fix is either too expensive or too boring. So we build it instead. This is the workshop end of the site — the sawdust, the mistakes, the second attempt that finally worked.
We favour projects that a beginner can finish in a weekend with hand tools and a borrowed drill, and we tell you where each one gets fiddly before you commit your Saturday to it.

Project · Furniture
A flat-pack bookcase, a sheet of ply, a tin of paint and about six hours. The cheapest piece of furniture in the house stops looking like the cheapest piece of furniture in the house.
