Big news on the blogfront….we have made a very BIG decision recently.
We chose this Monday Matters to reveal our news in hopes that even just one of you will join us.  Or at least support us.

Recently, we have realized how dependent we are.  On our jobs, on our cars, on our iPhones, on just about everything.  We are constantly stressed about money and even more so about time…it makes us miserable.  For the last few months we have talked and talked (even hinting at it in this post here) about downsizing.  More recently about selling it all and being vagabonds.

So in case you can’t see where this is going… monday matter That’s right.  We are selling everything that can’t fit on our backs and going on an adventure.  For the first two years we have decided to join the Peace Corps to get our bearings and be a part of something greater.  You know, we want to be do-gooders and all that.  You should join us. why Think about it, never having to worry about going to work.  Never having to worry if you DVR’d Duck Dynasty or if you paid your water bill.  No dusting.  Just exploring.  Sounds great right? how So the real point is that obviously, blogging will take a back seat to our travels.

We want to keep the blog running to document our travels and keep our moms in the loop of where we are resting our heads that night.  Also, we’ve made so many amazing web-friends already and I can’t imagine not talking to them.  So have no fear the blog will be here, we just won’t be posting every day.

Obviously this is going to be a long process, and we will be keeping you posted on how well “selling everything to fund adventures” works out.  We are so excited and hope you all will continue to visit our little piece of the internet to say hi every once in a while.  We may even send you a post card from Africa….since that’s our first stop.  Eeekk I am excited.  Come at me antelope.

The hardest part will be not being able to bring home a bunch of souvenirs.  Happy April Fools my friends.  Although that would be a real dream for us, it is just not in the cards today.  Hope you are out pulling many pranks and reveling in this glorious holiday.  Love you suckers.

Welcome back Monday…glad to see you again.

We had some crazy weather this weekend and are currently still burrowing our way out of fourteen inches of the best snowman-building-snow you’ve ever seen.  Isn’t snow sometimes so lovely?  Especially when you can stay inside and bundle up with your love.  It is not so lovely when you have to brave the roads, so wish us luck today.

This Monday we didn’t want to do anything too crazy in case you are snowed in like us.  So instead, we are asking you to plan. monday matter Did you know that birthdays are the number one reason people celebrate?  In fact, every single week there are 5,812,037 birthdays and 79,623 births.  Along with weddings, retirements, graduations, bat & bar mitzvahs, funerals, and balls we are a celebrating culture.  So what if for just one celebration you gave your gifts to someone less fortunate? give up your gifts Maybe your birthday has already passed or maybe you are like Tim and say, “but that is the only day that is all about me and there is no way I am giving that up mmmkay”.  Why not host a charity party?  Do I really have to convince you to gather all of your friends and family for a hootin-and-hollerin good time?  Didn’t think so.

There are so many charities near and dear to our hearts, what are your favorites?

Make Monday Matter....ten

Who is excited for Monday?
Especially one where we lost an hour of sleep thanks to Daylight Savings Time?
If you answered yes then I envy your ambitious positivity.

For the rest of us, let’s make this Monday extra special.
Maybe show Ma Earth a little lovin. monday matter This has been a hot topic the last few years, and while it seems like everyone already has all their bulbs changed out because they are good people….we did not.  Even though every time we have to replace a bulb, we do use the energy savers, we still had a ton of the relics just waiting to burn out.  In short, we are not be actively green.  We are actually kind of lazy. the lightbulb moment Doesn’t it seem like a small change?  Who knew it made such a big impact. and then Yup, that’s it.

Go spend a couple bucks and actively change those bulbs instead of just waiting until they need replaced.

Tim is not super crazy about this weeks action plan because he says there are high levels of Mercury and these bulbs need special disposal.  If they break you are not supposed to clean them up yourself, you should call your local waste management company.  I figure if they last forever, we only have to worry about it every decade or so.  He still puts up a little fight but then I shoot him down with the world-saving facts.

Where do you fall on the great light bulb debate?
Are they dangerous, or the best thing ever?
