What inspires me....

Posted by Christina // 4 Replies

I have been finding so many amazing photos and quotes lately I decided to put them all in one place.

Ala inspiration. Without sounding like a Christmas cheese ball I will attempt to sum up my munchkin sized inspiration board.

Obviously a lot of it revolved around the deep blue sea and all that inhabits it, unfortunately I couldn’t find a good mermaid photo.  Can someone get on that please.

I love the bright colors, a boost that gives you a kick in the bum.

Tim and I want to get anchor tattoos eventually…he just doesn’t know yet.

Sometimes I feel like I am getting caught in a giant life net, I only wish it was that pretty.  I am trying to remember not to “sink in a shot glass” or be too dramatic.  It is a work in progress that is for sure.

I need some blinged out starfish in my life, where can I buy those?

I want a jellyfish tank so bad I can taste it….yummmm mulberry jelly.

A lonely little seashell braving the beautiful sea, need I say more.

Are you gagging yet?  Ok so I really just think it is all pretty.

What is inspiring you lately?

I am not a golddigger....

Posted by Christina // 6 Replies

But recently I have been growing a little sweet spot for gold.

There is something sweet and girly about gold, maybe when the price of it started going up I started taking notice of it’s sparkle.
Oh wait…I am not a gold digger.

But I am digging this gold. While perusing one of my new favorite sites Stella & Dot I noticed all the things that I was jotting down on my I’ve-been-good-for-Christmas list happened to have something in common.

Gold.

This is not your grandmother’s gold people, the pops of color keep it fresh and fun.  Although there’s a certain vintage charm that comes with sporting giz-old.

Everything above can be found on Stella & Dot, in case you are starting your Christmas shopping early friends.

This is not a blatant hint…ahem I really love the green ring.  What is your favorite?

These are my favorite finds from the blogiverse this week…. Get this pretty little print over here.

Instead of a pocket full of posies….I would like a trunk full of beautiful blooms.

I gotta send some snail mail…just so I can transfer images with packaging tape.

Get beyond lost in this cloud installation….some people get all the creativity.

My next Halloween party….I am serving up some blood.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend filled with lots of prettiness and inspiration!

They say as soon as one vacation is over you start planning the next.

Oh wait…”they” don’t say that?
Well, I do.

We love to travel, we love to learn and see pretty places and meet the most interesting people.
Daydreaming of far off places gives us something to look forward to….more adventure I say.

We revealed in this post that we finally accepted that our priorities may not be the same as everyone else’s.  Now that we are ok with that, we have given ourselves permission to dream bigger and take more risks.  We aren’t going to eat raw bacon or anything, that is still too risky.  But traveling has pushed its way to the top of our list.

Before you call Suze Orman, know that our first priority is to get out of debt and save like crazy to be able to run away like gypsies.

But saving is hard….especially when Pier 1 has a sale.

So we put together a list of places we want to go.
Our “Dream Bigger” List

Obviously we can’t do it all unless we win the lottery or have some rich uncle we didn’t know about, but you can bet your tooshie we are buying our lotto tickets and checking family trees.

The point is to make the list so you have a reason not to buy the adorable ceramic owl that is half off.
I mean you know how I feel about lists.

Can I get an amen….and maybe a couple plane tickets.

We are now accepting donations.

Where do you want to go?  India?  Costa Rica?  Brazil or Russia?

Ahead of their time....

Posted by Christina // 8 Replies

Lately, while waiting for my melatonin to kick in, I have been watching old Friends re-runs.

Go ahead and sing with me….”I’ll be there for you” clap, clap, clap, clap.

Every night I think…man I love that kitchen.

Image found here.

This kitchen has taken a lot of heat for being “too busy” and “too cluttered” and “not functional at all”.

But the heart wants what the heart wants, and my heart wants teal base cabinets.

Not to mention the cute ceramic Pickles tub that they filled with utensils…..and the pink mixer.  Oh and the would-be-cute-with-different-fabric sink ruffle.

I just love this kitchen, and all the color and chaos.

Isn’t it kind of amazing that this show…and kitchen…were filmed in the nineties.  Especially considering some of the trends of today you can find, like the open shelving.

While looking at photos of the apartment and reading debates on whether they could really afford it or not….I stumbled on this at Bien Living.

Interesting to see the layouts of our Friends homes, eh?

I love that Monica’s messy closet has a question mark on it.  Not sure if they are being funny since it’s a mass of junk, or if they aren’t true Friends fans.

Speaking of true fans….Tim says this post won’t be complete unless I say the following word.  PIVOT.

Holler to my “friends”.

Our fish wishlist....

Posted by Christina // 1 Reply

The next tank we are putting in is going to be a fish only tank.

Here are some of the fishies that are on our wish list.  We would need a huge tank since some of these fish get aggressive…but we are totally fine with that.  The bigger the better, right?

And now onto the so-ugly-they-are-cute list…..

Just in case you hadn’t noticed…all of the fish on our wish list can be found and bought at LiveAquaria.com.

We are not promoting Live Aquaria, that just happened to be the site we were on when we decided to make a fish dream-team.  But if they wanna pay our bills, we are so down with that!

Most of the above are fish that we can’t put in our current tank.  Either because they are not reef safe, or they are aggressive, or we are too poor to afford them right now.  Our corals and current fish family mean too much to us to take the risk and buy these fishies up.

We can dream….and hopefully by throwing it out on the internet we might actually have put a fire in our pants to get a fish only tank.
