Hey hey hey…we made it a whole ‘nother week!

Hope you had the best week ever and are looking forward to a relaxing weekend.  It seems like most of my blogsphere is in Hawaii this week, I suppose I missed the memo but boy I wish I hadn’t.  I could totally use some sun, sand, and drinks in a little coconut…maybe a little steel drum or something. a beautiful mess

Ok now that I am off in the tropics somewhere I will share with you some of the most fun projects I wish I were doing this weekend. How adorable are these cardboard boxes that they made over at A Beautiful Mess.  Can I get them life-sized please?  Imagine the decorating possibilities….wrapping paper and washi tape and a new front door every other day.  design mom Can you even imagine the size of poster you would need if you took a picture of everything you owned.  I know mine personally would be miles long and that would be too tedious of a task to ever take on (say that five times fast).  With the new year recently rung…aren’t we all trying to simplify.  Maybe this lesson from Design Mom would be a great kick-start. yhl I know you aren’t going to believe me when I tell you this….but John and Sherry made those poster frames for $7 a pop.  They are so much cooler than the poster frames you buy at Walmart, amirite?

Do you have any fun projects planned for the weekend?

Hey, hey, hey…how was that first full week back?
Pretty terrible huh…this oughta make you feel better.

I have to work tomorrow, good old end-of-year Accounting.
Excuse me while I throw a pity party.

Now for some pick-me-ups. lovely little details

I am pretty much in love with the above photo that my darling Jacin posted on her site Lovely Little Details.  I would move heaven and earth for her to move to the Lou and become my BFF.

What a good reminder as we enter this new year to focus on all the positive that lies ahead of you.  C’mon get happy. tatted up I am ordering a whole gaggle of temporary tattoos from Tattly.com so that I fake coolness.  I have been begging Tim to go get another tattoo with me but he says these will have to do for now.  I’m not mad about, now I can sport real gangster tats without the whole “explanation to your grandkiddies” thing. beautiful mess Can everyone please shoot ingredient pictures from now on?  The girls at A Beautiful Mess have been delving into smoothie making and they are always taking pictures like this making me all hangry all the time.  I wish they would move in with us and make me smoothies every day. design sponge Because isn’t it “that” time of year…yea yea I guess so.  At least you can find lots of creative ways to make the most of it and get your house as squeaky clean as Katie Holmes in her Dawson days.

Did you find anything super neat on the web this week?
Please share.

Oh who is ready for the weekend….we are.
That’s who.

I found this little gem of a Etsy shop the other day and had to share the brilliant watercolor art with you all.  I took several of their prints and combined them into one masterpiece.  I simply love the colors and the natural vibe to every piece.
river luna I can’t wait to get my hands on the sleeping deer print.

Did you know that there are some citrus fruits that are in season?  Yea me neither, but Emma from A Beautiful Mess made these beauties look like a plate of art.  Oh and delicious….she made them look delicious too. beautiful mess

My newest guilty please:  Grace Helbig’s daily vlogs.  She may be old news to some of you but her crude sense of humor is fresh and inspiring to these ears.  She has become my daily laugh….but I have been known to get sucked in and watch 17 videos in a row.  You’ve been warned. grace These are too cute not to share.  Go check out all of Ashley’s creations for her Winter Brunch.  She gives all of the recipes for savory little tasters sure to please.  I couldn’t resist the little snowmen….ughhhh this whole “eating healthier” thing is really cramping my style.

Well, we made it.

We survived the Mayan destruction.
You should pat yourself on the back.
You are a survivor.

Now reward yourself with some eye candy. im pine-ing over these

My whole Christmas list has just been replaced with all the loveliness found here.
I am literally “pine-ing” over it all.  Someone get me a drool cloth.

Onto my last Christmas edition of Friday Favorites….I might cry. one charming party That banner is amazing, especially with the little bells stringing along.  The best part about this festive banner is that you can make your own.  The printables are all yours here.
the ivy cottage

I am not sure what I love more…the colors or the creativity of using ornaments and a screen door to make a beautiful tree.  I am now on the hunt for screen doors. dimples and tangles

Oh my adorable, talk about an awesome gift for a teacher or neighbor.  Using all of those scrabble pieces and some pretty ribbon you can have the cutest ornaments on the block. pleasureinsimplethings

Look at those tusks….are you in love.  Would you believe it is just a recycled toy and and old book?  Put a little time and love in and you just made the best gift ever for your bookworm friend.  I really love all the up-cycling going on in the blogosphere lately.

What did you find on the web this week….anything good?

I think I love Christmas almost as much as Buddy the Elf.
You can pick the print above right here.

So it should come as no surprise that all of my Friday Favorites are of course Christmas related.  Check out the best of my blogoshpere this week and have yourself a Merry little weekend. straw wreath We all have gone a little crazy with the adorable paper straws.  Over at Design Sponge they came up with an adorable craft to put those straws to work.  This would be cute all year around and I have some gray straws calling my name. yum in the tum I do love a good drink…throw a holiday theme in there and I’ll take ten.  The awesome girls over at A Beautiful Mess are always making sweet goodness, and this drink seems just right for the season. yard games Can you believe Ashley & Greg from 7th House on the Left actually made this vintage tv to put in their front yard.  I need to really step up my yard decor to keep up, that thing is the size of my garage.  I’m beyond impressed. chalkboard prezzies I have been debating for weeks how to wrap my presents…although I am having a change of heart on what I am getting everyone which would be a total game changer.  How cute are these chalkboard presents the Bonnie made over on Going Home to Roost.  If only I could doodle as cute as her.

What gorgeous holiday inspiration have you come across this week?
If you share below I will make sure you are on the “nice” list.

Holler for the weekend y’all. Do you have any big plans?

I am hosting a cookie bake with a couple of old friends. Think lots of wine and convincing my pregnant best friend – who will not partake in the wine consumption – that her little boy needs this. Seriously, how adorable would that be in a kids room?
I mean a map AND dinosaurs…it couldn’t be any cooler.

Want to know what else captured my heart this week…well since you asked. I am totally dumbstruck by this dining room.  Why have I never thought of taking different chairs and painting them all the same color like they did over at A Beautiful Mess.  It just works….and now I am collecting chairs. I am really nervous about making my own reindeer ornament, but Miranda from One Little Minute makes it look so easy.  If you get these as a gift this year, well you can thank Miranda. You know how you always hear things like, “Today is mustard appreciation day, enjoy”.  Well here is a whole calendar devoted to those quirky holidays.  I am all about that Peanut Butter Lover Day…I think I will throw a party next year. Isn’t everyone jumping on the gold-lovin train these days?  How about taking something totally unexpected.  Like your child’s broken robot and making it all fancy like they did over at Dos Family.  So glam…so unexpected. My best friend forever blogger friend Roo just launched an awesome line of paper goods…and gangster notebooks.  Buy them all because they are almost as awesome as she is.  Holler.
