Now that we are all coming back from our sugar cookie comas and starting to really bust into some of those awesome gifts you received – hello new pots and pans – it is time to show your gratitude.

I will never get tired of snail mail.

It just seems so much more personal and genuine.
Please don’t text your Aunt Dorothy your “thank-yous”.

Instead, give her some sass and sparkle.
Here are my favorite ways to show your appreciation. merci gratzi gracious 1234567891011121314

I never did.  Until now.

Remember when I introduced you to little Dori?

Remember how the very day I introduced you….a vicious hermit crab decided she’d make a great dinner?

That was crazy right.

I sort of avoided writing about our little fish family after that for fear that it was some sort of omen to be all braggy about your fishies all over the interweb.

I finally convinced myself, after not losing a fish for months….that I could introduce you all to our lovely new Kole Tang.  I mean, Coon had been in our tank for about two months and his ich was clearing up and although he was a finicky eater I was positive that he was Rocky Balboa strong.  I was positive y’all.

Then I got this phone call…. coon is dead I mean….is this real life?

So we have a dead coon.
I guess I was asking for it when I named him after road kill.
But what a bummer.

Do you believe in curses?

Should I never write about another fish again?

 I am scarred fo life.

Oh who is ready for the weekend….we are.
That’s who.

I found this little gem of a Etsy shop the other day and had to share the brilliant watercolor art with you all.  I took several of their prints and combined them into one masterpiece.  I simply love the colors and the natural vibe to every piece.
river luna I can’t wait to get my hands on the sleeping deer print.

Did you know that there are some citrus fruits that are in season?  Yea me neither, but Emma from A Beautiful Mess made these beauties look like a plate of art.  Oh and delicious….she made them look delicious too. beautiful mess

My newest guilty please:  Grace Helbig’s daily vlogs.  She may be old news to some of you but her crude sense of humor is fresh and inspiring to these ears.  She has become my daily laugh….but I have been known to get sucked in and watch 17 videos in a row.  You’ve been warned. grace These are too cute not to share.  Go check out all of Ashley’s creations for her Winter Brunch.  She gives all of the recipes for savory little tasters sure to please.  I couldn’t resist the little snowmen….ughhhh this whole “eating healthier” thing is really cramping my style.

Our new Kole Tang...

Posted by Christina // 3 Replies

We have a new little neighbor in our tank these days. coon He is seriously the sweetest fish.
He blended right in with our existing fish like he was Mr. Rogers or something.  Maybe he whistles, or maybe he brought a peace-offering.

I wish more of our fish would blend that seamlessly.

We waited a while to name thing little guy, he had a pretty bad case of ich.
Now that we have had the pleasure of knowing him for a couple of weeks we have decided that he needs an official name.  Barring any “fish bragging curses” we have declared our Kole Tang’s name to be ‘Coon’.

Don’t get all fussy, there are no double meanings there.  It’s just the whole ring-around-his-eyes thing and the I-am-really-sneaky-hiding-behind-these-rocks-we-can-pretend-are-trash-cans thing.

Well, that and this.

What can I say…sometimes I am hopelessly literal.

I hope you all had an absolutely amazing holiday and got to spend time with your favorites while stuffing your face with cheesecakes.  Yes…that was supposed to be multiple.

To bring in the New Year we had a little get together with friends and family.  This sort of celebration called for something….like a homemade photo booth. our photobooth I will spare you all the hilarious out-takes where we tried to get the dogs to sport ‘staches but rest assured that we have renamed our dogs to Enchilada and Taquito.  It is totally fitting.

Did you all make resolutions?

I rocked last years resolution (to not talk about politics on social media…whooo wee election year fiasco) so this year it had to be something semi-attainable and somewhat realistic.  As opposed to “lose 75 pounds”. christinas2013resolution Timothy is real excited about my “bring home more bacon” resolution…he doesn’t care if that means moolah or pig butts.  As long as he gets some.

Tim’s were all pretty generic….save money, get healthy yada yada yada.
So I rearranged his list. tims2013resolution Oh yes….he needs to get on that.

What were your resolutions?
