But no double-dipping.

I wanted to share one of my new favorite go to snacks, because you all deserve to know about this deliciousness.

Bonus:  It’s stupidly simple.

First, you go buy this little jar of goodness.

Tim and I somehow were lucky enough to be at Schnucks when they were giving out samples of the tastiness above.

Now, we are hooked.  Suckers.  It’s just so easy.

All we do is get a brick of Cream Cheese.  We buy the diet kind cream cheese so that my thighs don’t start looking like the Mars photos they are sending back.  Anyways, brick of cream cheese and spread this dip right over the top of it.

Then, this is the tricky part…you dip a cracker in it.

It is so tasty, very sweet although it doesn’t look as good as it tastes.  In fact, my tip is don’t stir it up until you have tried it or you may not eat it.  Not exactly Top Chef worthy on the visual aspect but it will make your taste buds sing with glee.

You’re welcome.

Have you always wanted a piece of the ocean but weren’t sure how to start?

We went over how we got into the saltwater hobby in this post.
But what if you want to get into it…and find Nemo.

My first suggestion is to Google.  Learn as much as you can about saltwater aquariums.
This will help you determine what kind of tank setup you would like. For beginners, we always recommend a Biocube or Nanocube.  All of your filtration and lighting are built in, so the maintenance is lower and there is less guess work.  These tanks let you get a taste of the commitment that goes into this hobby without getting in over your head.

If you are ready for something bigger we recommend going into a fish store and talking with an expert.  There are a lot of things you have to consider, like the weight of a tank.  How to care for the tank, and what lighting you will need.  Even what fish get along together and how to care for corals.  Research can help with all of this, but sometimes you just want to ask someone what would work best for you.

To find a fish store…you guessed it. Once you have done all your research and know what tank set up you are wanting.  You can sometimes find deals on full set-ups, tanks, lights, sumps, and even live rock on Mr. Craig and his list.  We personally bought our tank from a store and bought everything else online.  EIther through retail websites or Craiglist.

Now comes the important part…you wait.

Once you get your tank setup, full of saltwater and live rock…you wait.  We will tell you more about the nitrogen cycle later this week, but you generally have to wait 3 to 6 weeks before you can start adding corals and fish to your tank.  Bummer.

Once you have your water perameters in check, you can add fish and corals.
There are a lot of great resources and forums for any tank or livestock problems that you will inevitably face.

One thing to remember is that in this hobby everyone has an opinion.  You will hear many things that work for one person that don’t work for someone else, and there is always going to be something new and exciting that you have to try.  Just do your research and know what works for you.

If you ever have any questions you can always ask us!

They say as soon as one vacation is over you start planning the next.

Oh wait…”they” don’t say that?
Well, I do.

We love to travel, we love to learn and see pretty places and meet the most interesting people.
Daydreaming of far off places gives us something to look forward to….more adventure I say.

We revealed in this post that we finally accepted that our priorities may not be the same as everyone else’s.  Now that we are ok with that, we have given ourselves permission to dream bigger and take more risks.  We aren’t going to eat raw bacon or anything, that is still too risky.  But traveling has pushed its way to the top of our list.

Before you call Suze Orman, know that our first priority is to get out of debt and save like crazy to be able to run away like gypsies.

But saving is hard….especially when Pier 1 has a sale.

So we put together a list of places we want to go.
Our “Dream Bigger” List

Obviously we can’t do it all unless we win the lottery or have some rich uncle we didn’t know about, but you can bet your tooshie we are buying our lotto tickets and checking family trees.

The point is to make the list so you have a reason not to buy the adorable ceramic owl that is half off.
I mean you know how I feel about lists.

Can I get an amen….and maybe a couple plane tickets.

We are now accepting donations.

Where do you want to go?  India?  Costa Rica?  Brazil or Russia?

The most common thing we heard before we left on our almost two week road trip was, “oh this will be the ultimate test”.

Of course there were variations like, “pack a big bag of patience” and “please try not to kill each other” and even “whoa nelly you two will be enemies by day three”.

Not very encouraging.

T and I have always traveled well together, but we are talking small weekend trips here kids.  We really started psyching ourselves up for 13 days of being in a two foot radius of one another. To our surprise, it was easy breezy fun.
Disclaimer: we do not have chittlins, I believe that to be extremely important information.

We of course had our moments of frazzled map reading, and insane traffic never made us giggly….but we did a good job of remembering that we were frustrated with the situation and not with each other.

Once we hit the downward slope, aka the drive home…we both got a little grumpy.  But there were never any blowouts, which I think we both fully expected.

All my life I have looked at traveling as very hectic.  Traveling meant arguing at least 32% of the trip, usually in the very beginning.  I’ve been on some trips where people fight the whole time…not fun y’all.

Feeling like we might be onto something….we put together a list for you all. roadtrips with spouse/boyfriend
We hope all of your travels are as happy as ours!
